 One of the ads on the frontpage of Livejournal were mailorder-brides. Google-ads, aren't they supposed to fit the content of the site? If so, am I looking for a girl to do whatever I tell her while I rip her passport to shreds and treat her like dirt

The ads were a large part of the reason why I stopped giving LJ my money and moved to Dreamwidth. The worst was an ad for Scientology on the front page.

What's Dreamwidth? I could google but I'm a little bit lazy at the moment

Dreamwidth was set up by former LJ staff member Denise. It works the same way as LJ, but it is ad-free, has lots of women in the tech departments, values creativity and fandom, etc. Everything that made me angry about LJ seems to be absent in Dreamwidth.
