What an amazing difference! You must have such a huge sense of accomplishment. :)

I will when the rest of the house is done. ;-)

I still have two more wallpapered bathrooms and a guest room full of boxes to do.

Oh, it suits you beautifully!

(I have to ask, though - how do you keep the cat away from the harp? ;)

They don't actually know it's there. :-)

Very nice. I like the candle-holder in the bath room, and the dining room chandelier looks very familiar -- would that be a Minka-Lavery?

I couldn't help noticing that you still have track-lights in your living room.... ;-) (Will your pothos (or whatever that plan is in the corner) get enough light?)

I believe it's part of the Portfolio series from Lowes. ;-)
I replaced three light fixtures, and a kitchen, so I was on a budget.

Yeah, the track lighting is an issue. The new lights apparently don't work very well with the old tracks. (I HATE the old lights, but I need to be able to see.) So I could replace the tracks, or put something else there altogether. And if I'm going to put something else there, I should put it in the middle of the room, where the light originally was. So then the project nvolves opening up the ceiling... and thus goes the snowball down the hill.

It is indeed a pothos - and it's getting PLENTY of light. That window next to it faces just about due South. :-)

Not necessarily so. You can do surface wiring (like track, only there's no slot). Or, you can buy more track and a "T" junction, so that you have a track crossing the room's mid-point, and then hang your choice of fixture either directly from the track or from a box placed at the end of it. OR, if you go with a chandelier-like fixture, you can swag the chain from a gizmo which plugs into the track -- and then you can put the fixture anywhere you want it.

(Glad your plants are so well provided for! ;-)
