Voting can still make a difference!

The last presidential election was a grave dissappointment to many. We're starting into election season again, but I don't get nearly as many voting flyers as I used to. As aggravating as it was, it shows a pervading apathy that frightens me ( Read more... )

Hell, I live in Ohio...I know my vote 'doesn't count'. I still vote, though, in the hope that someday I'll actually get a representative that actually represents me. Something of a vain hope here, but short of open rebellion, I have to do what I can.

When a political party emerges that's able to openly state the obvious: ballots are bing tampered with- then I will support that party with both my votes and my energy. As long as the democrats are pretending that ballot tampering doesn't happen, they are part of the problem, not the solution.

You can't complain if you don't vote, but if you vote, then you can't complain that the system is fuxx0r3d,

but there's another possible idea of something to do. There are a couple of smaller political parties (OK in WA there's alot of 'em) that are making waves, but they're still too small to be a serious threat to the big two. Why not try and get involved with one of them, help them grow big enough to be a challenge?

OK, maybe I'm too freakin' Lawful Good, but I believe in working within the system. I really don't think the system is broken, it's the way some folks have been working at circumventing it.
