Confession time: I bought some "dry shampoo" from Lush and have been using to extend the time I can go without washing my hair. I need to wash it every other day, but now I'm washing it every 3rd day. I think my hair is always healthier the less I wash it, but I normally can't stand how limp it looks by that third day. This stuff is working out ( Read more... )

Paris has been doing the no 'poo method for a year now and her hair looks AWESOME. Its actually really WAVY, oddly enough. She had one week where it looked really limp and greasy, and ever since its looked better than ever.

That is great! I just started using baking soda for washing my hair to prepare it for dreads (no residues). Does she think the vinegar rinse is necessary? I literally took a cup with some baking soda in it down to the showers with us.

And Lisa, I don't bathe daily. Pfft. Damned dirty hippies. ;-)

I actually don't care how much other people bathe, lol, but I bathe a lot because I like baths and I sweat a lot, being a fat girl. I never used to bathe my kids much when they were little though. Jesse now showers daily on his own because at the theatre they are right up on each other physically all the time, but Dingo would go the rest of his life without bathing if I didn't make him. He probably bathes weekly and it hasn't killed him yet.

I didn't even consider that you weren't bathing everyday. I've always washed my hair every 4 or 5 days 'cause I'm so dry but I've noticed since menopause that my hair starts to get greasy at the roots by the 3rd day which is just weird. So now I have to shampoo about twice as often as I used to which means I have to condition with heat and a plastic bag more frequently so the ends don't get too dry. Weird stuff, menopause. But I've never tried the dry shampoo.
