A&E has not done anything to infringe upon his freedom to speak his mind. They've just declined to let him do so using their "press" anymore.
He can still say what he wants on some other network (if they'll have him).
Many of the folks objecting would be *livid* if someone suggested that (say) Fox News had to allow John Stewart to speak his mind on FOX programs whether they wanted him to or not.
This isn't really any different.
