Yes, easily one of the best (if not THE best) movies I've ever seen! And yes, the swearing was humorous at worst and a non-issue at best. I'll definitely let D see it when it comes to DVD (he'll probably be nine by then).
I really wish I had taken kids! I did go on that site that has parents rate it. It got a lot of flack for VIOLENCE and SEX. Umm...where? So, I was disappointed that the site missed the mark. Did you/kids ever see Searching for Bobby Fischer? A must!
If it didn't have the R rating, it would be used in schools. A shame. While I read the director was very upset by the rating, he declined to release a version a few weeks ago that deleted the curses. I don't know...I personally would have done it so it reaches a wider audience. But, his film!
I just saw that movie the other day too and ADORED it! I think the R rating is misleading, too. I'm going to take all my kids to see it and my youngest is 10. That was one of the best movies I've seen period!
M and I and M's unofficial Little Brother (then 14) all loved Searching for Bobby Fischer. Our teenaged friend was good at chess but had dyslexia. He felt validated by this movie.
