people fear what they don't understand

Sorta a rant. Maybe spiders freak people out, but does that mean they have to kill them? At my job there were a couple of spiders around and most of my coworkers are women, who btw are very squeemish around bugs and stuff. Hell, call me unlady-like but bugs and creepy crawly things NEVER creep me out. In fact, I actually like stuff like that! ( Read more... )

I'm totally with you on this one. You accurately identified the spider, took the humane action, and that neurotic co-worker went and stomped it-- sounds like out of spite. Obviously she can't kill all the spiders in the world, so going after the one you set free is just sadistic cruelty on her part.

I bet she thought that psycho in "The Green Mile" (the one who stomped Mr. Jingles, the mouse) was a real hero.

Yay, someone else who agrees with me at least. Spiders are also good cuz they eat up the other pests in the house, :)

I didn't even know it was coming out. I just last night saw my first preview for it. But then again not surprizing since I've not yet seen one summer blockbuster from this year.
