I went to a big one today in downtown Seattle, the biggest and most crowded one I've ever been to. My thought: absolute waste of time! I can imagine you are pretty discouraged. But at least you keep looking. My nephew-- I'm pretty sure he's stopped looking, even though his brother managed to get another job (they're both cooks). I hope you can find something to do while you're looking for the job you want.

And you're right about going in person rather than online. At least that shows them you're serious. You might make an impression on someone.

Funny you mention. My older brother has been unemployed for part of the year and I'm certain he's stopped looking too. But of course, living at home helps. But when you're one you're own (like me now)...boy it IS tough!

I have been doing a bit of art stuff and learning more of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) in my free time.

Guh, that sucks. Having been unemployed for two months and running low on my savings, I can relate. Job fairs don't work for me either, and the only thing I've been managing to find is retail work (which I can't do because standing for hours on end aggravates an old pinched nerve I have in my back).

Hopefully, the economy will get better soon and jobs will be pouring in for everyone. Foolish hope is stil hope, right? ^^'

Good luck with the search!
