Tonight at Pacific Sunwear, this girl stole a pair of pants. She put them on in the dressing room, tore off the security tag, and walked out. My manager asked her about the security tags left on the floor and she said she didn't know where they came from. Part of the reason the prices are so high is because they have to account for the percentage of revenue they'll lose from girls like the one in the story, who will steal rather than pay for it like the rest of us honest folk.

oddly enough, i was thinking about that too...i forget where i considered it from, but in some cases, you gotta give props for these people that are doing it to make statements. It takes a lot of guts, AND good planning to do those things.

but yeah, stealing is wrong....luckily, there' no stealing where I work...admissions!

Another thought. In a store like PacSun, the company is paying out the ass for things such as overhead, and in particular, marketing. Most of the costs associated with the product are in advertising, promotion, distribution, etc. So PacSun isn't making quite the profit margin that you would think off of those pants.

I've got a Marketing final this morning. Hopefully I can make it by on what I just wrote ;)
