1. What did you do in 2003 that you'd never done before? Cut ties with people whom were either not good friends/ negative, had a car at college, got a job, drank less at 21 than i did my previous yrs in college, had 6 couples get married (and was a bridesmaid in 1 wedding), and proved myself wrong that it is possible to fall in love w/ someone in a very short period of time
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I don't think i ever make resolutions, i'm just kinda like... whateverish about it.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? yep, my friend Angela in Germany had a boy back in March.
4. Did anyone close to you die? not a CLOSE relative, but yeah... more Germany people.
5. What countries did you visit? AACK- none this year! ::hangs head disappointedly::
6. What would you like to have in 2004 that you lacked in 2003? Less stupid friend drama. Better luck with men. More interesting classes.
7. What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? June 19th & 20th (celebrating my 21st), and the month of September (especially the 12th & 16th... if you don't know, don't worry about it)
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? getting a job and keeping it
9. What was your biggest failure? letting people walk on me instead of standing up to them sooner
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? just the usual cold, but nothing massive
11. What was the best thing you bought? things that made others happpy :) mostly gifts, for various reasons
12. Whose behavior merited celebration? probably my brother- for having transitioned well to college life w/o screwing up too much, and Erica- for having the time of her life and being stronger than she thinks she is ;)
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? these shall remain unnamed
14. Where did most of your money go? LOL- FOOD! and then bills i started paying
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? getting to see Britteney for the first time in 8 yrs!!!, going out on a limb by befriending people i normally wouldn't, and being pleasantly surprised; spending mucho time at the beach & playing volleyball; attending ALL Homecoming events for the 1st yr. ever; having a PAYCHECK; getting a cell phone (finally!); having had a fabulous boyfriend
16. What song will always remind you of 2003? "Crazy in Love"- Beyonce, "Get Busy"- Sean Paul, "One Thing"- Finger Eleven, "Beautiful Mess"- Diamond Rio, "Why Don't You & I"- Chad Kroger & Santana
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? a bit sadder
ii. thinner or fatter? thinner!!!
iii. richer or poorer? slightly richer
18. What do you wish you'd done more of? gone to the gym (? i really can't think of anything... that's good i guess lol)
19. What do you wish you'd done less of? UNGH feeling like i needed people's approval who turned out to be less significant than i thought in the end
20. How will you be spending Christmas? It's already past, but i was w/ my Dad's side of the fam. in Okeechobee at my Grandparent's house (being that my Mom's side is in Germany...)
22. Did you fall in love in 2003? I plead the 5th
23. How many one-night stands? NONE!
24. What was your favorite TV program? My usuals- The Nanny, 2 Guys & a Girl, the WB shows
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? i don't hate anyone, only dislike
26. What was the best book you read? Umm... probably the one i just finished- Janet Evanovich's To The Nines
27. What was your greatest musical discovery? Sheryl Crow- i've always liked her, but didn't realize how much until i saw her in concert. I now own her "best of" cd and love it!
28. What did you want and get? a job, good grades, new friends, and some Sweet Lovin'!
29. What did you want and not get? eh, i'd rather not think about it
30. What was your favorite film of this year? Good grief, i dunno. Identity, X-Men 2, Gothika, Love Actually & Something's Gotta Give- those would be my Top 5. I can't think of a favorite.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? I turned the big 2-1, hehe. The night before i went to Roxy w/ some friends and got toasted but had a fabulous time (i looked way hot lol!), and then the actual day of said birthday i had a big party/ sleepover. The party theme was "Pimp and Hoe" so you can imagine the outfits, hehe. And the highlights included a monster cake fight and then truth-or-dare in the pool at 4am!
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? less friend drama!
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2003? um, the same as usual? jeans/ shorts, a tank top, flip-flops. And then nice work clothes.
34. What kept you sane? my "older" friends (Erica, Erin, Rachel, Donnie, Britteney, Laura)
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Ryan Reynolds (just one of my husbands haha)
36. What political issue stirred you the most? PSH i don't pay attention to politics. I should but just don't care enough to.
37. Who did you miss? See #34, and then my Germany crew
38. Who was the best new person you met? as sickening as it is... Derek. Even now still, i say this. Stepping back and taking a friend-point-of-view, i have a lot of respect and admiration for him. He is an awesome person- i would be here all day explaining why. Taking close 2nds would be Catherine (new roomate) and then Darla & Kathleen M.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2003
1. Sometimes it's the people you least expect that are the best surprises.
2. real friends are hard to find. keep those ones and let the rest of them take care of themselves.--> DITTO Erica!!!
