I'm looking for a collector/shop either in the Metro Detroit area or someone who is willing to pay shipping, which would be quite extensive for  a lot of old records.

My Grandparents are cleaning their basement out and have at about 500 records dating back to the early 1920's posibly earlier than that but there are still a few more crates to go ( Read more... )

actually i would be interested in knowing what you have. I love records and i dont know if you ever saw my collection but its HUGE.

its hard to find someone or someplace to take a OLD record collection off your hands.

you could put a blip on craigs list you might find some collectors there. I would suggest getting a varied list together if you do that though and maybe a pic or 2 you know everyone likes a photo.

I love grandparents basement stuff its like treasure hunting.

I agree with the craigslist suggestion and I'd love to know what they have too. :) I couldn't take the entire collection but if you piecemeal it let me know!

I can't help but remember the episode of Seinfeld where Kramer and Newman try to sell off the record collection of the old man Elaine is assigned community service to visit with - did you ever see it? ;) I hope it works out better for you! :D No stinky record store owners, anyway! LOL

MAybe call Car City Classics over here on the eastside? It might be Car City Records, or Motor City Classics or Records, but it's on Harper near 9 mile - a record collector's wet dream that place is.
