Very sad and chagrined that I managed to miss the Dan Simmonds Beach Blanket Bingo Memorial today. Despite numerous notices and reminders, I had somehow and long ago marked the event in my calendar for Sunday - and was even planning much of my weekend around such. But alas.

That's a moving and very fitting tribute.

We met through Dan's journal I think. And it was your bond over Pink Martini that introduced me to the group.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Dan in person--and I would have really liked to--but his comments and occasional emails and one gift "basket" always made my day.

Despite the LJ reminders I thought that the celebration for Dan was next week. I was planning to celebrate virtually, which I will still do--a day late and a dollar short.
