Two yeshiva students came to wsu for passover. It was pretty funny discussing their very orthodox views on pesach. They kind of threw a fit about eating fish and chicken together, according to them it's unhealthy to eat them off the same plate and it's against jewish law t eat them together. and here I always thought fish was parve and good to go with anything anytime!

There is a talmudic discussion in which it is decided that eating fish and meat together is forbidden because it is unhealthy. However, this ruling seems to be held by a minority of observant Jews today, and in fact there is a good argument for ignoring it completely based on the fact that the underlying logic behind it is based on false information. (It is not unhealthy, therefor there is no reason to prohibit it. Had the rabbis been having the same discussion today, with the information we have available to us today, they would not have made the same ruling.)
