it started friday night. since sic737 couldn't attend saturday's festivities, he took joe (& me!) out to eat at lark. savvy readers will remember that's where joe & i spent our fourth anniversary, & chris had never been.

lark is only about a mile away, & just one turn from our apartment, but i was determined to surprise joe. & this was no easy task ( Read more... )

anyhow, somehow chris WAS able to climb onto joe's lap - WITH joe's sprained ankle in a giant walking cast - & ride home a couple miles that way! i turned off the airbag, thankfully avoided being pulled over, & got everyone home safely.

This proves that your Miata is bigger than my MR2. I once tried stuffing two people into my passenger seat and the only way it could be done was by removing the T-top and having the second person's head stick up slightly.

& their fuck proof

It took me a second to read this as proof of fucking rather than a way of preventing fucking. Although I guess it probably does that too?

you accept in advance that there's going to be at least an hour's wait until you get a table, often two, then 30-40 minutes before you receive food... & it's so worth it.

In my opinion, it's worth going to Seattle for and then waiting >1.5 hours to eat. It remains my favorite place to ingest calories in Seattle.

back in the living room with his four packages, we called phil, then i dictated the order of opening:The Saturn ( ... )

i don't think having more legroom makes the miata bigger. & chris can fold himself up surprisingly small. they HAD asked me to put down the roof, but i declined on the basis that what we were doing was TOTALLY ILLEGAL.

thanks again for all of your help - i couldn't've done this one without you. :)

That is an awesome gift. Taking something that special to Joe and structuring the scavenger hunt and gift... just awesome.

Sometimes old video games are the best games - a few years ago, I made my birthday party Oregon Trail-themed and asked everyone to bring computers so we could play competitive speed Oregon Trail on an Apple IIe emulator. No one died of dysentery, sadly, because most people had the emulator crash before they could make it to Oregon. The winner was the person whose emulator crashed last. ;)

thank you. ^_^ he was pretty happy, haha.

I SO AGREE. i finally got joe to play net DooM with me recently, & it was oh-so good.

Lulz to your emulator stability contest. X)

SotN is Adam's favorite Castlevania game as well. He just bought it on the Xbox Arcade as our PS2 bit the dust and our PS3 yellow lighted on us.

You throw him the best birthdays.
