this write-up is a bit delayed, as i caught lobar pneumonia about a week after this trip, spent a week with a 103°F fever, & wound up in the ER getting IV fluids as it's not possible for a tiny lish to keep up with both eating & the amount of water being burned off by 103°F. i'm still recovering & will probably be coughing into february, but i did ( Read more... )

Hahah your posts make me so fuckin hungry. I was scrolling and actually thinking "I wonder if she likes sushi" and then my question was answered. My best friend is coming for a visit in Feb and we're going out for sushi. I've been obsessed with rolls with salmon in them lately, but I loooove suggestions about rolls to try!

i eat sushi at least twice a week. i'm not much for rolls unless they're particularly inventive; i'm a sashimi girl, & high end. ;)

thanks, me too. i basically just turned to powder with that high a fever.

Wow, fun trip! So many things! And three nights of a favorite band - also so very cool!
The tar-pits are so odd. Just this weird sort of trashy, marshy *hole* right in the middle of...everything. So weird.

Damn, hope the pneumonia doesn't linger for *that* long. Sheesh. I am thankful to say I've never had it, but the Monstrous Bebe did when she was just a wee Bebe - so not fun.

yeah, i expected them to be different than "okay here's the pit!" SO weird.

i'm so sore from coughing that i thought i cracked a rib yesterday. it felt better to rub it though, & that's not quite how broken bones work.

My dad once separated his ribs coughing (bronchitis, i think) so injuring yourself isn't exactly out of the realm of possibility. As i've gotten older, my own colds (and ever-worsening seasonal allergies) seem to settle into my lungs a *lot* more than they ever did.
