haha nah. i don't dislike them, but they're not on my list of animals i care about.

iirc, there are four snake species across the islands. not many, but remember animals really only get to islands if they evolved there, came over on their own, or were brought somehow.

but there's maybe a wild snake i saw in an upcoming pic... X)

So cool. I love the little red and orange crabs, they're adorable.
And the view of Mt. Rainier! Gorgeous.

Having the airline lose your luggage *sucks*. Glad they found yours. The second (?) panorama shot, just below the weird little beetle/sluggy thing on the leaf? Why is the ground/cover so dark? Was that some kind of river basin thing, or had there been a fire, or was the flora just that dark?

Gorgeous photos! And wow, amazing menus for a touristy 'thing' - they usually stick to much plainer, less interesting foods.

they're sally lightfoot crabs. i kept asking the guides if i could eat one if i could catch one, but they wouldn't let me try.

technically, my luggage wasn't lost, haha.

the dark ground is because it's a volcano... same reason black sand beaches are black.

They lost my luggage when I went to Korea years ago. Took them two days to find it and get it to me, fun times. I *did* have to go shop for stuff, but I was in Korea! so not such a hardship.

yeah, that's not SO bad. i had full insurance too, so i would've been compensated... but i'm so glad i didn't have to be.

you can buy it pretty much everywhere! always get it with pulp, the pulp is the best part.
