I think the sponsor route would be the best way to go. The other thing to look at is that by the time you have done 10 events you would have a bit of a following and some events might actually SPONSOR you to come and visit.
There is also the the production company route, you could write up a proposal to present to production companies and they might sponsor you to do it in return for television rights (or something).

What ever support you need, even if its just to air ideas lemme know, if you and James do anything with your lives I think this is the one thing that would make you both truly happy.

Production company. Any ideas on what sort would be interested? I mean, G4 might be, but not sure how to contact them.

Honestly, I think your idea is amazingly awesome
It may take you a year or so to get it all together and financially set.
You could take custom orders to be delivered at the con.
Or charge for emergency onsite costume repair. Lord knows those cosplayers can get spry!

Hmm, emergency costume repair... or altering off the rack stuff for people... HMMMM...

Was also thinking of doing reiki for people.

oooh. My Ex-Mom-in-law did Reiki... great stuff... She did it on our elderly cat and he didn't walk as stiff after sessions!

Totally go for the sponsorships.

Contact the conventions about being a guest.

It sounds like a total blast and you MUST do DragonCon.

We're going to Dragon this year, kinda what's inspired the idea. I like that guest idea, we'll have to work on it.

Whoot! I'm doing the Almost High Noon: Weird West steampunk panel and I'll be in the exhibitors' hall. You HAVE to stop in and say hi!

Yes I do! Plus, that sounds like a panel I'd like to see (and that would interest James too). Will probably be wearing my steampunk outfits all convention.

Some resources: research rv living, there are a lot of good books out there about the mobil lifestyle, no need to re-invent the wheel. Someone I just recently met via the burner community is also on lj, radven, I'd ask him questions, he's been living in an rv for a couple of years now & calls the lifestyle technomadic, so try googling that. So stuff :)

radven is the husband of serolynne; both of them live in a travel trailer and travel all over the country. Their Tecnomadia website is at http://www.technomadia.com/.

And I think it's a great idea...but how are you going to keep from killing James when he drives you mad? :)

Oooh, thank you, they've got a nice site.

In answer to your question:
A. I've already been driven mad.
B. He can get out and walk. I'm a better driver anyway. :)
or
C. I can get out and walk. A li'l exercise would do me good.
