I was very shocked, too, when i got to morocco. I can relate to that. I remember the first night, alone, in a $4 room with decades old blankets where i barely fit in the middle of the mazy medina of fez, shaking and shivering as i heard the extremely haunting prayers coming from voice-distorting megaphones all over the city. The taxi driver had left me in this square full of strange light and strange faces where i was supposed to find this hotel dale told me he'd meet me at. I didnt know if I was even going to find Dale and i was SHITSCARED thats when i found out, too, that yes there are some situations too strange even for me to handle. It took me quite a few days to stop feeling like i was in constant danger, especially after i got ripped off and abandoned in the middle of the night in the bus station of a city i didnt know and i had to make my way to essaouira in crappy buses that were falling apart without sleeping. I didnt run into any other foreigners during that oddissey. I was scared but i loved every minute.
