Oh, this is totally charming and adorable. I especially liked Keltie hinting and the phone calls with Patrick (the end made me grin), as well as the lack of much said straight out in the final Brendon/Eric talk but with a natural understanding reached anyway. And I'm impressed by how nicely everything flows through the scene changes. Wonderful.

And Brendon thinks maybe he shouldn't have called, because now he has to talk about it and he's pretty sure that he's just not great with rejection, but he clears his throat anyway, says, "He distracted me, kept my mind off of being the odd man out, you know? But as soon as I wasn't the, like, seventh wheel or whatever, he bailed. It's like he felt bad and decided to throw me a bone or something. But we were friends before. At least I thought we were. And now he can't be in the same room with me unless someone else is there to buffer, so I must have done something...gotten on his nerves or..."

He's insecure, but you didn't characterize him like a thirteen year old girl. He's insecure like I can imagine that Brendon would be insecure.

I had to resort to the YouTubes for video of that -- I was out of town, and set my TV to TiVo, and because of stupid freakin' sports, SNL was on late here, and it CUT OFF their performance of Lying and the credits. I was Not Happy.

Seriously. More Brendon/Eric. Yes. Like, in the video of them doing Mad As Rabbits in the studio? Eric in shirts with no sleeves? I have this little daydream whenever I see it, and imagine that Bden asks why he always wears them (not that he minds, b/c well-defined biceps are pretty) and that leads to further... discussion.
