The area she lives in is one of the new-money-mcmansion neighborhoods in the Detroit metro area so it doesn't surprise me a bit to know that's where she lives.

Isn't it interesting that one's socioeconomic background often plays a large role in developing one's prejudices? It's amazing to me that here in Canada so many people from more affluent backgrounds blindly support the Conservative party (for the sake of "tradition), no less), shutting their eyes to social injustice altogether. This candy-hoarding woman is perpetrating her own form of wealth-based social injustice, in my opinion.

I own that one of my own biases is the affluent; I have very little patience for injustice when perpetrated by someone who is wealthy whereas I sometimes give a wider berth to those who struggle financially. I know this isn't fair, but it's mine to deal with. It just so often goes hand-in-hand that wealthy (or trying to appear so) usually means that political stance is conservative. I can't say I've ever known it to be otherwise but I wonder if I would've known/noticed.
You're exactly right, though, that is a form of wealth-based social injustice.

Yeah, I agree. But still -- ugh. I wonder about people often, I really do.
