People are crazy

Sometimes, it really, really shocks me how incredibly insane some people are.

I was just reading an article about Earth Hour that appeared in the online version of the Winnipeg Free Press today.  It's basically a short, little article reminding everyone that it's today at 8:30pm that you shut out your lights if you want to participate.  What's crazy

Some people are crazy, and not in a medical-journal way.

Since you are someone who answers me and no one EVER does on Twitter, I'll ask this of you, since i couldn't find it on the Weg site:

Is it 8:30 regardless of where you are? So every place is doing it at a different time? I can't figure it out.

Oh hey, I didn't see this until it was too late -- sorry! As far as I know, it's 8:30 wherever you are -- or at least, that's what we did. I think I'll read up more on it for next year, as I only really found out about it at the last minute.

It's okay, I figured it out. :) I actually did turn everything off and had a very lovely quiet hour in the dark with only a bunch of candles burning. I meditated for a half-hour, then played with my Tibetan singing bowls. All very new-agey. ;)

Sounds excellent. Julie and I sat together by candlelight and read a book of Dorothy Parker's poetry (finished the whole thing in just over an hour). So we laughed a lot, and it was very, very relaxing.
