The mountains, unimpressed, ignored the display, stubbornly brooding over their secrets, while on their inhospitable slopes, lanky firs, crowded together for safety, stretched their scruffy necks to watch.
What a beautiful bit of wordsmithing - actually it all is, but the above and this unruly, puffy clouds which strained to escape its hold.
Well, something did happen today that convinced I'm not quite as bad at writing as I sometimes think:
I put 'Passing' up for review on HASA last week - and it passed !! Since I sent it I've been feeling slightly queasy everytime I thought of it and was convinced it'd be rejected.
So I'm incredibly happy right now; my first 'posted' story - and it got the star! I feel like shouting it from the rooftops. :-))
How's your ear today? Those new antibiotics doing their job?
Thanks, Oshun - glad you liked it. I'm thinking my wood-elves might have been a tiny bit supersticious, or perhaps just so attuned to nature that an unusual phenomenon might worry them.

For some reason I couldn't make the link to it work in the above and finally removed it completely, but here it is: http://lisser8.livejournal.com/20901.html#cutid1

Well, I hope it at least made you think of something else than your poor ear for a moment.
