Please note that this little story as well as 'Maluchen', 'Of Delicate Matters' and the one I'll post in a couple of days are all from the third part of my Haldir-story, 'Imladris'. Therefore, if you prefer to read the entire story in the right order and wish to avoid spoilers, you should not read these now.

Thank you to Cal for the betaing and my ( Read more... )

Silvan Courting Rituals - Soon, he would be able to answer Orophin’s cry for help!

I loved this. Loved the desciption of the library and Haldir's reaction to it, but most of all loved the way you bring in your original character Maluchen. I am getting quite attached to him.

Very nicely done.

Thanks, Oshun. I'm glad you think it works!

I see Maluchen as much more flexible(?) than Haldir, who has never had a friend before other than his brothers; Maluchen may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but he's a patient, sweet-natured guy.

Definitely looking forward to reading more. Like the idea: "not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but he's a patient, sweet-natured guy" -- like this a lot because it cuts across the fanfic stereotype of a Noldo also.

Oh yes, I know the Noldor were generally very intelligent (as well as larger, physically stronger than the Sindar and Silvans); but they couldn't all be 'above average', could they?

I'm thinking Maluchen has been protected a little too much by his parents and has not matured along with those of his own age. Of course this appeals to Haldir ... another little brother!

lol - thanks, Lethe. :-)

I'd better go post the last little bit now and finish this part so I can get back to the beginning. I'm just soooo well-organized ...

Lol, don't worry about it, it can be spliced together - the writing is the important bit.

I'll take your word for it. Not really looking forwards to the splicing, though.

Ooooh - lovely avvie you've got * checks the previous ones * again!

Yay - you like the library! That's great. :-)

You know, I thought the 'card catalog' (is that its name?) might have been invented by a Noldo...
