This comment goes out to both of you - YEAH JASON ROBERT BROWN. I'm not sure if either of you know, but Jason Robert Brown has one more musical under his belt..."Songs for a New World" wasn't on- or off- Broadway, and "The Last 5 Years" only made it to off-Broadway...but his 1996 musical "Parade" made it to Broadway and earned (I think) 9 Tony nominations, and JRB won the Tony for Best Original Score. The story line is very controversial, so it only ran for 82 performances, but the cast includes the woman who sings "Stars and the Moon," "Just One Step," etc., and also Christy Carlson Romano (Ren on "Even Stevens") when she was little. It's about a man who is accused of raping and murdering a 13-year-old girl (which of course he didn't do) and the "parade" set against him by the town and the trial surrounding it. It's also about his relationship with his wife and how the incident draws them together. It's very powerful, I've heard a few songs and I'm dead set on buying the album as soon as I find a place that carries it around here. ♥
