Dont worry about getting into Brown or Yale. They're a bunch of rich ivy snobs anyway, and the weather there is so piss poor you have no idea. I still love you very much, and I am so very proud of you for all of your accomplishments in and out of school. I mean that... I admire you very much. You're quite good looking also!
And hey, I think youll love Scripps, and its academics will certainly challenge you. Its an awesome school, and even though it is all girls, you know your favorite (I hope!) boy is right across the street (and literally right across the street.... aboooo room draw and West 464), and willing to spend as much or as little time with you as you desire!
Good luck on the math test tomorrow! May the luck of your mudd math major, melissa-loving, metalhead (and any other words which start with the ltter m) boyfriend be with you! I love you so much.
hey melissa, i agree with ur b/f. yale is messed up. well i feel that way for two reasons. 1. because i also got rejected when i applied early and 2. well because they're mean people who have unreasonable and way too high standards.
oh btw, does this mean u're gonna burn ur yale sweatshirt? I saw it in ur icon and i was just wondering. lol it's revenge!
You should subscribe to my friend's (who coincidentally, goes to scripps!) theory on Yale: she doesnt believe that its an actual school. She bases this on not knowing a single person from there... she thinks they just suck up your app. fee and then reject you. It might be true... the 3 top students from my high school class (john teal, ben and I) all got rejected from Yale. But east coast schools in general are overrated, from football (dont even get me started on east coast bias in the media) to academics. Yale doesnt even have that high of standards... their average SAT and GPAs are nothing special... you just need a decent legacy and/or massive athletic talent. Otherwise, youre boned

hi greg! so sorry i didn't call u that before. I wasn't thinking.
Geez i didn't know it was THAT hard to get in. I agree with the legacy and sports stuff. It's really sad that there are really smart people out there like ur friend and still top schools can't recognize that. Why does it seem that sports and legacy can get u into a top college but being extremely intelligent in various areas can't. sorry if that seems like a stupid question to ask but it's just absurd and ridiculous how colleges can torture some kids.
The Ivy leagues (along with schools like Stanford) accept sports and legacies for only one reason: money. To be perfectly frank, most of the schools on the east coast dont give two shits about your undergrad reputation... Harvards rep is built on its amazing grad program, not its average undergrad program (which has a succint lack of teachers and student happiness. did you know harvard has very high rape and suicide rates, along with some of the lowest undergrad satisfaction around?). The already have their snobby reputation, so why not get some money out of it? Good sports teams draw fans, sponsorship, merchandise sales, and TV times - TONS of cash. Legacies garner the interest of one family line who will donate tons of cash over the years. Ridiculous? Absolutely. They dont care... it just bolsters their reputation when the smart kids who deserve to go to the top colleges in the country (which are not ivy league schools) dont get in
