#1 on my list consisting of one element: accurate representation and use of mathematics. Like knot theory. Or differentiable manifolds.

This has been frustrating me for a while.

And for that matter, accurate and non-stereotypical representations of mathematicians. Ever since I watched Revolutionary Road where the math guy is fucking crazy, I got so pissed off. Not all people who like numbers are about to undergo electroshock therapy. Or, in the case of Pi, lobotomize ourselves with a power tool. And for that matter, not all math people like numbers! For god's sakes! I can't remember the last math class I took that involved actual numbers! 0, 1, and infinity don't count.

1. A dance movie with a strong plot and good acting and that just does not suck.
2. A good adaptation of ANY Sondheim musical. I don't know how, I don't care. Sweeney Todd was horribly sung.
3. A strong plot in Star Trek XII that is maybe something more war/politics than evil mustache-twirling villain. Also less romance PLEASE.
4. A large budget feature-length Battlestar Galactica with the 2003 cast. Oh my do I want this.
5. An Arrested Development movie. People have been talking about it forever but just GET IT DONE.
6. I want a Farragut North adaptation with Chris Pine reprising his role. Screw the Jack Ryan remake.
7. An adaptation of the Hobbit. The rumours about this movie have circulating for 8 years now, throw me a fucking bone.
8. A vampire movie to redeem the genre after Twilight.
9. A different perspective on Che Guevara other than revolutionary hero. There may be one out already but after the Motorcycle Diaries I refused to watch anything else.
10. A film about Nikola Tesla. Yes. That would be amazing.

Oh, damn. I forgot the Gershwin biopic with Zachary Quinto. That. And the Buckley biopic with Franco.

0. More widespread showing of international films (with subtitles, please)
Guess what, America? We aren't the only people that make movies, not to mention good movies. And subtitles are actually not that evil, considering it's much more pleasing to the brain/eye to read rather than reconcile a sound that doesn't match the visuals.

1. More realistic application of physics in action sequences
Mr/Ms. Government Agent/Spy/Vigilante, don't shoot at the drivers, SHOOT AT THE UNDERCARRIAGE/TIRES. Wham, bam, so much more efficient.

2. LESS NO WHITEWASHING
I'm talking to you, The Last Airbender and 21.

3. Better adaptations/reinterpretations of other media
Easy A sounds fun, but as an interpretation of The Scarlet Letter? Yeah, no. Just...stop sullying my literature/plays/comic book series, Hollywood.

4. Sharper dialogue in general
Example: Nearly all of the dialogue in Ocean's Eleven is snappy, funny, and relevant to the plot. Big words are sexy. Please to be using them more often.

5. Less sexualization of female charactersI want ( ... )
