Not even sure if I know how to comment yet, Marsh. I THINK this will work. Extremely new to LJ, and I signed up because Xanga is about to fold. If I had any time at all right now, I'd read the help pages and all that other stuff. Just got home from work and it's my night to cook dinner.
I think that livejournal will be a happier place for you in terms of community functions than wordpress (John and I have a wordpress project, but he's the guy who does the techie stuff and I am not sure I'm right). But you can friend on here and read your "friends list" and interact fairly easily.

Because the U.S. Open is going on (I'm a golf nut, and besides being a Phil Mickelson fan -- he's tied for the lead), I'm also the type of guy who will be thrilled for whoever wins), I haven't got time to read LiveJournal's welcome email. It took me two or three tries to find your message, and according to something one or two pages ago, I have another message to read. (That's true even though I've seen this message before and probably replied to it.) I'm so dumb. But please stay with me. Thanks.
