The WWI Poets

This week, Stephen Voyce made a delightful lecture on the World War I poets. It was nice to be swept away into history and the land where everything seems like stories and not actual history. I agree that the world needs a make over but not through war. The sad part is I don't think people will stop starting wars until somebody nukes the planet and kills everyone off. I know my theory is very cynical but I can't help thinking it especially with everything that goes on in the News. Hopefully the people in power will wake up before it gets that far but I don't see that happening any time soon. Oh, I love 'In Flanders Fields' by the way, it's just so moving.

Hey girls -

I totally agree that In flander's fields is reflective and sad. It was written after McCrae had to bury his friend, which never quite invokes feelings of hatred or patriotism. Only sadness.

The world will always need a makeover. Maybe it will happen in 400 years, but at least you worked towards it. :)
