Ducks, Cats, Fish and Dogs...

I must say I really enjoyed lecture this week for the simple fact we were introduced to FW Harvey's "Ducks." A huge part of this was because I actually understood it from a first reading, but also because of the delightfulness of it. I love the way Harvey incorporates his feelings and ideas in such a simple, clear and accessible way. When he writes ( Read more... )

Yes. In the past, Lisa has said that my posts are too long. I would argue that Lisa's posts are just as long.

I think I actually stumbled upon that fish poem that you posted above, was it in the Norton? I don't recall. But I ended up not posting it because as you have already said, it hints at larger topics like death, suiting for this week I suppose. I really enjoy that poem though, but maybe that is because I enjoy fish, not strictly the taste of them but everything about them, their strength, their form, they are a beauty to watch and marvel at. Yeah I'm from BC, can you really tell? Have agood one,

Hi Lisa, that was a really good post. I liked how you mixed the poetical analysis with a bit of personal information. I also loved The Cat(II), being a cat person myself, I thought it was beautiful. The way the words sound out-loud and the obvious love the poet has for cats. Great pick,
