I woke up this morning feeling really discouraged about loving people. But then it turned wonderful and sweet.

Three things:

A firm-standing relationship with God.
A decision to care about and love other people regardless of what they believe, how they live, or how they decide to treat me.
A decision to be happy. That's how you get happy, you pretentious prick--you decide inside your body to be happy.
