I've come up with the hypothesis that after people get out of traffic they drive crazy. Since they're not moving as they would like they're a little bit frustrated but once the traffic lets up and you have this new freedom everybody decides "let's drive really fast and change lanes all crazy." Alafaya is crazy, especially now that they're repaving it. Not that I'm complaining cuz it seriously needs it. And it's smart of them to do it at night. The thing is they do it from 7pm-7am. And I am conveniently on that road at that time 4 days a week.
But they did it weird. like they shaved down the road so its 2 inches shorter. But the thing is the manholes are still at their original height. So some of them are really protruding from the ground which still makes for a bumpy ride, even though the rest is smooth.(I'm going to start using the word manhole in everyday language, btw).
And I think it would be really weird if everybody were to accelerate in unison as to stop traffic. I don't think the delay time in between individual accelerations is so much that traffic remains at a stand still, unless its a really big pile up.
