Welcome to the community, Hannah! We've been really quiet lately, but hopefully, once NaNoWriMo is complete, it'll get a little more lively...

I believe you're one of the first illustrator/writers to join... this IS exciting! How would you describe your drawing style?

Also, your influences made me relive some puntastic adventures, courtesy of PIers Anthony. I haven't thought about those books in a very long time... awesome!

Thanks for the welcome ^^ I must say, I've heard NaNoWriMo mentioned a lot, but have no idea what it actually is or what it entails o.o

I actually use a number of styles, depending on the project. The style I use most often is something seen fairly often in western graphic novels: Terrible Twins and Autumn but I also paint digitally: Blue Girdled and Rear Window. To see a glimpse of the main character in 'Empress' - she's the blue haired woman on the far left: Alien Emo Hero Vampire

*lol* I agree, I ratehr love Piers Anthony's Xanth series - I have a shelf full of them and go back and read them from time to time ^^

NaNoWriMo is [not very] shorthand for National Novel Writing Month. Basically, it's a worldwide writing contest that takes place every year in November. The goal is to write 50K words between the 1st and the 30th. You can find info about it here: http://www.nanowrimo.org. I believe a number of our members have participated at one time or another...

My brothers and I used to play a computer game based on Xanth. THAT was an entertaining summer. :P

Welcome to the community! I think a number of members here have either previously written or still actively write fanfiction; it's a great way to get practice in writing, plotting, and pacing for when you start your own original works. Sounds like you have a lot of details planned out for your books, which is awesome. What are they about?

Admittedly, I still very actively write fanfiction ^^ Seeing how I handled fanfic helped me realise I could write my own and spurred me to get off my arse and actually do it ( ... )

Wow, sounds like quite a saga and very ambitious! Good luck on it! I will look forward to hearing more about it in the future as you get it written. Awesome illustration too, by the way!
