Oh, Cherski! I can't express the depth of my love for this show, and every single character, and I did watch it real time (it was the year after I graduated from high school, so it was still very real to me) and I found Sharon annoying at first. But then I grew up and I came to really appreciate Sharon, and her unwaveringly loyalty. I really love that no matter what Angela does, Sharon just loves her and can't give up on their friendship. I was a lot more like Angela in high school, but I wish I had been like Sharon.
Okay, I seriously love Sharon so much, I can't even tell you. She's such a fierce friend, I love how protective of Angela she is when Jordan is dicking her around, how she refuses to be charmed by him or won over by his cuteness because dammit, he hurts Angela and that is not okay. I love her reluctant friendship with Rayanne that's born out of her bone-deep kindness and empathy. I love her talking to Angela about sex and bringing over the tape, and connecting with her in such a great "girl" way. I once read someone describe Sharon as "conscientious to the point of anxiety" and it's just so true, and it's not the sort of character who holds a lot of romantic appeal for people because of that, but she's really the sort of friend everyone should have. Love herrrrr.
