This is one of my favorite books, and one of the ones I re-read frequently. A lot of Hoffman's stuff gets so same-y, but this one is written so interestingly and has just a really delicate balance between every day things and magical fantasy things. I also love the relationship between Antonia and Kylie, and the aunts. And the way she describes kissing with Ben! So great.

I love all the stuff with Ben and wish it had been in the movie. And Antonia's crush on him and her bitterness that he wanted Gilly and just everything about it. I'm not a huge Alice Hoffman fan because of the same-y-ness, but I adore this book.
