Driving through the forest on a mountain road in the rain, listening to Little Big on an audiobook, tired and sad I found myself thinking that veering into an oncoming semi and getting knocked off a cliff wouldn't be too bad a way to die but to make sure I would need to take off my seat belt and I moved my hand to the buckle ( Read more... )

Seek ye the gnarl.

It sounds to me like you're bored out of your fucking mind. Have you considered starting the usual entertainment cycle again? I.E. Join a local society and express yourself? I think the time you spent in the CMA or SCA was very entertaining. Sure, they're mostly a bunch of dumbasses but were you bored while you pointed that out to them? Weren't there some people who liked you and entertained you? I don't necessarily mean us chat folks either.

Get off your sorry ass and go piss some people off. ;)

Oh, OH! Can I second this recommendation!
And even better, I have a group! I have also been in a similar situation with life, and I am thinking about joining a group of LARPers. It is a fairly new, fairly small group, but they have games in about 10 places in the US. One in in Belton, and another in listed as Pacific/Northwest!
If you want to go down this rabbit hole, I would love to make the journey with you. Eventually, if it sticks, I could come up and game with you.
From what I know of these folks, they tend to be VERY open minded, usually have played some sort of RPG before, and many are poly. Ages seem to run from from 20's to 60's...
So, the big question is... How do you feel about Zombies?

The above seems like a good idea.

Also, finding some way to break a sweat most every day can really help dislodge blocks in vitality, it helps me a lot when I experience what you're describing.

When are you coming by to blow glass?

I have found Adderall to be an effective treatment for this sort of thing, because I get so freaking focused on what's right in front of me that I forget the over-arching pointlessness of my life. And I honestly think that something like this is in fact how most people manage to make it through their lives-they are so occupied with day-to-day necessities that they haven't the excess brain power to notice that none of it means much of anything.

You mean nothing, I mean nothing, no one and none of this means anything. But, given that fact, what are you going to do with yourself in the meantime?

If I ever achieve anything in my life, it will have been because I had nothing better to do at the time.
