omg, it's been a hectic week! (under cut to spare people who don't wish to know)
it started with me working July 4th, because Sears and JC Penney decided they'd have a 4th of July sale and stay open until nine, so the whole fucking mall had to stay open. so i'm standing next to the panties(i work at lane bryant), talking with my friend about how it's eight o clock, we have one more hour, and is she sure she wants to get those particular panties, when out of the corner of my eye, i see a light flicker. i turn my head, and JC Penney is fucking closing!! so i run to the back to tell my manager, who'd been so fucking bored she started cleaning the back rooms, and she tells me to go check on Sears. and i go see that Sears and every fucking store up Sears' corridor is closed! and our supervisor didn't say we could close until about fifteen minutes to nine, which, fuck it, it wasn't even worth it at that point.
and then i had to be back at lb at eleven sunday morning, an hour before it opened, to mark up our bras after our semi-annual sale. and stay there until four in the afternoon.
anyway, come monday, i'm at my bookstore job e-mailing over two-thousand professors who haven't given us their fall book requests, and my co-worker hasn't shown up, so i'm constantly interrupted to tend to the cash register. that night i had a painful headache that i tried to sleep away.
woke up tuesday afternoon to watch the fourth stage of le Tour, feeling fine, ate food. then my manager calls and i'm needed to come in at the bookstore, where i will continue to e-mail over two-thousand professors, as well as adopt books into our system, all with having my headache come back.
i was off wednesday, thank god.
today, i was back e-mailing, adopting, and to add to the joy, calling in purchase orders to publishers that like to talk me in circles and do anything to make me nervous enough to think the orders will never make it to the store. and i found out that my textbook manager's computer was acting weird, so my e-mails were going out, but absolutely nothing was coming in! but my department manager did tell me a story about his ex-girlfriend and his car that had me in tears it was so funny!
and friday will be more e-mailing, more adopting, more purchase orders, a small break and then back to lb from five to nine. followed by opening, ten to three, at lb saturday, and probably the same sunday.
why in hell did i decide not to move home for the summer?!
ah well. i've decided to write a naruto meets peter pan story, only it's peter pan like no one's ever seen it. except maybe in the lost boys manga, but it's even different from that.
AND! my parents and i are going to see the Smothers Brothers for my birthday. i checked to see if tickets were still available today, and, long story short, i ended up passing on three FRONT ROW CENTER seats because my mom didn't have the funds yet (they just recently got back from a vacation in Texas' Hill Country).
eh, that's about it, really. i just noticed i'd not posted in a while.
PS - i fucking love "Are You Being Served." if you haven't seen it, please do. it's hilariously British!
