Abilities
Character's Canon Abilities: N/A
Conditional: If your character has no superhuman canon abilities, what dormant ability will you give them? Quite simply, the ability to make people believe him. With a bit of effort and direct eye contact, Sawyer will be able to make people think what he's saying is the truth. It will be stronger in person than over video, and at first will only extend to very simple statements such as lying about his own name. Over time, he'll be able to tell more blatant lies such as 'I don't know X fact/have never heard of Y person' and have it be possible for someone to believe it as fact.
Weapons: A shotgun.
History/Personality/Plans/etc.
Character History: Found
here. Character Personality: Sawyer will tell you a lot of things. He will tell you his name is Sawyer, for one. If asked, he will tell you he is certainly not a criminal. And he will probably tell you that he is trustworthy.
What he will not tell you is that his name is not Sawyer, he is most definitely a criminal, and that he is rarely trustworthy.
Sawyer is brilliant despite what he may seem, and near-flawless as a conman. Textbook definition of a smooth operator, he could sell ice to a penguin and talk you into believing you spent last night kidnapped by aliens all while dropping snarky comments every other sentence. Though he has no superhuman abilities, he can shoot with the best of them and hold his own in a fight. His greatest weapons aside from a gun are his wit and words; while the latter occasionally gets him into trouble, the former gets him out of it.
When he first arrived on the Island after the crash of Oceanic 815, Sawyer set himself to looting corpses, unclaimed luggage, and otherwise being a scavenging jackass parasite. He was at first stubborn, cocky, and nearly impossible to deal with. He did, however, spend a sizable amount of time with Kate; though it's unclear whether he did so because they were both outlaws of a sort or because she was an attractive woman.
First and foremost in the beginning, Sawyer was a conman fully interested in self-preservation. Lost your luggage in the wreckage? Sawyer's got it, doesn't give a damn whose it is, and good luck getting it from him without mockery and an all-around difficult attitude.
However, that was then. In approximately three years spent on the island, he gradually became less of a jerk and more of a genuinely decent person. Throughout polar bear attacks, escape attempts, mysteriously hostile island inhabitants, the island relocating itself, time traveling to 1974, and other completely ludicrous events, Sawyer became an intricate part of the main cast and a valuable member of the team in fighting the Island's thousand and one conflicts.
While he may present a bit of an abrasive personality with mocking nicknames and a nasty attitude, Sawyer is overall a genuinely nice person-not that he'd much like to be told such a thing.
Character Plans: Get the hell out of Siren's Port as soon as he can.

Well ain't this just ducky. Off Gilligan's Island and right on to some other one. Couldn't be happier.
[There is a sarcastic Southern voice coming over the NV-whoever's working it seems to not realize it's on, just pressing buttons to see if something works.]
First the place starts falling apart, then the goddamned plane just up an' vanishes. DHARMA setting up some friggin' outlet store in Canada or something? Christ, where's goddamn Sayid when y'actually need him? Like I know how this radio is supposed to work...
[The video comes on to show a very annoyed man with dirty-blond hair and a look like he just walked off a battefield.]
Okay, y'all better listen up. I want some goddamn answers and a one-way ticket out of here.

The plane was gone.
The goddamned plane was gone.
Sawyer sat on the ground at the abandoned baseball diamond, feeling like he'd just been through the rollercoaster ride of his life. But it was all gone-the plane, the Island, the fissures, the earthquakes...
He was alone.
“...the hell?” He ran a hand through dirty-blond hair, disheveled and looking like he'd just come off a battlefield. It was close enough to the truth, at least. But wherever this place was, it wasn't the collapsing Island. If that was in fact the case, the question remained; where exactly was he now? A dream, maybe-yeah, that was it. He fell asleep on the Ajira plane while they were going to the mainland. It seemed so obvious.
Then again, that autumn chill was very real and very not-tropical-island-like. After a moment's contemplation he stood on unsteady legs and looked around. A city seemed to be in the distance, civilization aside from the small cottages DHARMA had used for those three years in the seventies.
Sawyer took a breath, dusted himself off, and gave what was arguably the most brilliant summary of events both recent and past.
“This is a whole lotta bullshit right here.”
