Of all the classic characters, my vote is Sherlock Holmes...He's mostly serious; intelligent; introspective; observant; opinionated; workaholic; therefore, I see him in your positive and negative traits.

I see Mr. Rochester: he has that strong, tender, obsessive, stubborn vibe, but he's also a rule breaker, and I can definitely imagine him responding with, "I make sure they do," when asked what he does when things don't go his way. :)
