Does this look like a college or professional paper to you? I can use it for emphasis when I'm casually talking about dumbass Smallville if I want to!

What are you doing reading this anyways? Huh?

Dude, irregardless IS NOT A GODDAMN WORD! The Baby Petrelli is throwing his pacifer at your head!

Um. See this place? It's called fandom. We use lots of words around here THAT AREN'T GOD DAMN WORDS. I'm going to stick Baby Petrelli's pacifier where he won't want it in a minute.

Besides, I was half quoting Mean Girls when I wrote it anyways. Simmer down.

His jet plane. Oh my god. Is there baby Peter somewhere in it too?

And stock footage that didn't quite blend with the footage shot on stage!
Someone on my FList complained about that and I wanted to smack them and say, "That's the point!".

That was one of the best parts of the episode! Most people are lame and don't watch old movies anymore. I'm almost scared to read other's reactions for that exact reason.

Whatever. It was AWESOME wasn't it?!

Twas the awesomest! When my husband called me yesterday and said he saw a commercial for it on TV he told me, "I bet you're all excited to see Clark in glasses again, aren't you?" He knows me so well!

THIS CLARK IN GLASSES WAS THE BEST THING THAT'S EVER BEEN ON THE SHOW.

No argument.

I could watch it all day ♥

Honestly, I'm shocked that the people who work on Smallville even know what film noir is.

*snickers*

I think Brandon Routh did a creditable job in Superman Returns. However, after the iconic Clark Kent bit, I told me son that they made a mistake not casting Welling. He was terrific in that scene.

Especially since whenever they ask Tom about the movie he always says that they would have had to cancel the show for him to do it. So I think it's partly that Warner Bros wanted to have two cash cows instead of Singer's whole wanting an unknown thing. The only facet of the character we haven't seen Tom do wonderfully is the guy with the cape and I'm sure he would do great job in the tights. *tries not to giggle*

I'm not very fond of Routh's Superman. To me he lacks the oomph and charisma to carry Superman past the distanced, god like way Singer set him up. The exception being his bumbly Clark scenes. Those are joy.

Welling though? WENT BEYOND JOY. A whole Superman movie with him is too much YAYE to contemplate.

Damn, the production people just outdid themselves on this episode. Visually, it was a complete feast - and such a treat for anyone who loves old movies.

Her getting dressed and him coming in looking like that and wiping his mouth . . I think we were all wiping our mouths a little am I right?

Oh, yeah. I had a little problem with my brain shutting down whenever Tom Welling was onscreen, but when he walked out, post-coital, wiping his mouth, it made a bit of an explosion then a spark fizzle and then it shut down.

Know why Smallville is better than Heroes and Supernatural no matter how much better there continuity or effects or what the hell ever? THAT. It's got a lot of other things going for it that those two shows don't quite stack up against no matter how much 'better' they are - charm for example - but mostly THAT.

THAT, as you put it, had me bouncing in place on my sofa.

Shockingly, I'm not completely shallow as the Tom is porn in a ( ... )

I saw some people complaining about the production and I was left sputtering. If you know old movies at all, it's immediately apparent how above and beyond they went. AMAZING, AMAZING JOB. My classic film loving heart is so happy with it. I blow them kisses.

The wiping the mouth thing . . . Smallville was being so sly and saucy! In such a noir way! And Tom. Let's just say BRAIN GO BOOM! and leave it at that *g*

K. KENT. I'M CLARK KENT.

! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

IT WILL NEVER GET OLD. NEVER!!!

what does it mean that the dialogue in this scene between Lex and Lois echoed the "is this real?" "Oh yeah, this is real" dialogue between Clark and Lois in "Crimson"? Intentional, or just a happy accident? - Sadly, i don't remember that dialogue between Clark and Lois. With Smallville though , who knows? I'd like to think they do things like that on purpose but ( ... )

Humph. I won't say that there aren't things to complain about, but the production wasn't one of them. Not even remotely. It was just exquisite. They must have had so much fun doing this one.

Let's just say BRAIN GO BOOM! and leave it at that *g*

You know, I've seen more people say the same thing - or variations on it. There was just, massive brain shutdown with this episode. Unbelievable.

Sadly, i don't remember that dialogue between Clark and Lois. With Smallville though , who knows? I'd like to think they do things like that on purpose but . . *laughs*

Oh, that bit of dialogue is hilarious, because Clark is just so insincere about it, it's all about saying the right thing to get into her pants. I'd be likely to write it off as just a coincidence (or a limited vocabulary ( ... )

IT'S BEEN ALMOST TWO WEEKS AND I'M STILL NOT OVER IT. Fandom doesn't seem to be over it either. Ahahahaha next time they're going to throw some crap at us they should put Tom in the wife beater and have him wipe his mouth again and maybe we won't even notice whatever it is. His GORGEOUS is so powerful, they might even be able to get away with killing Chloe ;)

I'd be likely to write it off as just a coincidence (or a limited vocabulary?), except it's so much fun to think of it as intentional that the whole "is this real? Of course it is!" is repeated only in situations where it's not real. Jimmy's dream sequence for "Noir," and Lois and Clark under the influence of red!K in "Crimson." I'll choose to be ridiculously optimistic, and think of it as a running joke.Limited vocabulary *laughs and laughs* I have no idea how much to believe is intentional with this show ♥. Isn't ridiculously ( ... )

Eeee! This was just the type of squee I needed. I have only passing familiarity with noir tropes--the kind that most people have, I imagine. So I need to ride off other people's squee. Although it was clear even to me that they did a magnificent job on the sets and costuming. And TOM! Whoooo!! He was the hottest he's been all season and the 'K. Kent. I'm Clark Kent.' is in my favourite SV moments top five, for SURE! It was ... it was just nothing I'd ever expected I'd get to see and I was SO EXCITED! \o/

You should watch some noir, Bop! It's wonderful, really culturally interesting stuff. Well, maybe mainly interesting for Americans but still you can't go wrong with it.

I'M STILL NOT EVEN CLOSE TO BEING OVER THE 'K. KENT' THING. Most definitely in the top five!!

Noir's definitely one of those things I'd love to get into if I more time. Actually I had a bit of noir infatuation in my late teens and even wrote a noir screenplay as one of my final-year school assessment pieces. It's been so long though, it's all faded in memory.
