a) thoughts on the awesomeness that is Superman

Normally I would say GIMMEE but I'm already an enlightened person that has all 12 issues of All Star Superman. So hit me with some thoughts on Superman's awesomeness!

There is so much Awesomeness to Superman, it's hard to know where to even start ♥

Superman is awesome because he's the 1st superhero! There'd be no Spiderman or Batman or Iron Man without him and think about how sad the summer movie season would be then.

Superman is amazing because he makes a choice every single moment of every single day about what he's going to do with the incredible amount of power he's been given and his choice is *always* to protect humanity and lift it up. He is amazing because that choice isn't even a conscious choice - he just does it. It's not something he has to spend a lot of time brooding/angsting/going back and forth over - it's not a struggle - it's *who* he is.

Superman is awesome because that innate goodness is still interesting and never, ever boy scout boring no matter what people might say.

Superman is awesome because of Krypto and Lois Lane and the Legion of Superheroes.

Superman is awesome because he is the ultimate symbol of hope ♥

Final Crisis was AMAZING, and I need to sit and read it all in one go now that it's all out.

I don't believe we've talked about Final Crisis yet which um . . wtf? WE NEED TO.

There's so many things. The way Darkseid shoulda put a ring on it. Dinah's 'We rule'. Super poodle. The absolute epicness of the two monitors in love conversation. (With Monitors = comic writers adlfjakdjfakaj DO I EVEN NEED TO SAY?!!) Obama Superman. Doctor Who stealing. That panel with Clark and Kara designing the Miracle Machine with the freaking Bat Cowl hanging over the arm because Clark had to keep it with him. 'Maybe in the next life you'll love me'.

Did I mention the Monitors conversation? 'It was nice to have a body and be loved'. I DIE.

Grant's boot fetish is hysterical and I find his woman a bit terrifying in general.

Oh reeeally. I don't know why I was under the impression that you were part of the hating haters hating group that doesn't particularly care from him. IT MAKES MY HEART GLAD THAT YOU ARE NOT.

I should probably read Final Crisis sometime soon, huh? I admit all the hate's been making my wary, but I trust your judgmentWell. I loved it but I am for sure in the minority on that one so don't expect too much I guess? It takes effort - you have to actively put pieces together and rereads are a must - and it is confusing. I won't say that it's not. I think it's absolutely worth it though. It's very epic and ultimately full of optimism and gorgeous concepts. It's about embracing all the crazyness of the dcu and the power of creativity and as such - *You* as the reader have to embrace some crazyness and be creative about reading it.

Was it the panel he did with Gerard? Because that one sounded awesome and I pretty much assume that they've slept together. I mean, visiting him in Scotland what?
