Question for People

Nov 30, 2006 12:55

With the escalted things I have seen lately during these elections, I gotta ask a couple of things...

What constitutes getting a OWBN strike?  What would be worthy of such a thing?

What would constitute getting a Chronicle strike?

Does behavior and internet presence come into that play?

There isn't much rhyme or reason to either. Sometimes it's an actual violation of house rule or bylaw, sometimes it's just 'behavior unbecoming'.

OWbN - A breaking of rules, or act that is unbecoming that affects more than one chronicle - illegal activity also might fall under this, if it is a safety issue.

Chronicle - Anything the Chroncile's STs deem to warrant such action.

Behavior? Hell yes. Internet Presence? Possibly. Depends on the issue.

I generally fall back to by-laws on this one. It's the only structure we really have to work with on this type of strike.

What would constitute getting a Chronicle strike?

That's pretty much up to the discretion of the home chronicle. We have rules in Gainesville that other games don't (18+ only gamers for instance). Most of our OOC rules are based on the fact we play on state property (University of Florida campus) and are designed to protect ourselves and the University from damages; thus no alcohol as well, whereas if you play at someones home, that might be okay.

Does behavior and internet presence come into that play?

An unequivocal YES. For some reason, especially here in the States, people think that just because in general society, you can be a dickweed thanks to the 1st Amendment, that it protects them in private clubs like OWbN Chronicles. It does not (thank you Supreme Court ( ... )
