I feel like it's not over yet

You know, even with the fact that there have been three games since the Jak 3 story, I can't help but feel that NDI is still sitting on the final Jak game. Maybe it's the optimist in me, or maybe I'm just reading too much into subtle things, but...

Mar. We still haven't gotten resolution on Mar. It always felt to me like NDI was hinting that there ( Read more... )

This post is beautiful and I love it.

My hope for a new real Jak game is lessened every day, but somehow I still have it. IT STILL EXISTS. I just wish we didn't get taunted and teased by other developers using Jak characters. It makes it hurt all the more.

I absolutely love that scene too and I really believe it's one of the best cutscenes in Jak 2. It's just... there's a sadness there for the destroyed statue; destroyed art from a once prosperous time, that could possibly bring hope to the people of Haven if it were restored (and if the Baron didn't blow it up right away). But there's more than that sadness, and I've always felt the sense that it's a person looking at their own grave. That's exactly what it feels like to me ( ... )

To be fair, Ready at Dawn? Kicked fucking ASS with Daxter. It can be done with the right developer, they just seemed to be the only one with a real passion for the franchise.

I admit, I believe that it's canon that Jak is Mar. Jak is The Kid; The Kid is Damas' son, direct descendent of Mar; The Kid is named Mar.

I consider this incontestable fact. :|

...taking into account that Naughty Dog uses a lot of humour in their games, I believe it's a safe bet to say that they're continuing the joke of "lol the precursors are ottsels". It's the kind of humour Naughty Dog uses. The Precursors are ottsels; I'm sure Naughty Dog wasn't taking them and a lot of their dialogue too seriously.IIRC they weren't even sure if they were going to run with that idea ( ... )

Right right right Ready at Dawn. Ready at Dawn was so good with Daxter that I honestly forget that they're a different company sometimes, especially since a lot of the team was former NDI staff. Either way I would totally be for Ready at Dawn making new Jak games because Daxter was awesome.

I think I would have liked the Precursors being ottsels a lot more if my brother hadn't spoiled it for me (he blurted out one time when Jak 3 had just come out "HEY GUESS WHAT THE PRECURSORS ARE OTTSELS LIKE DAXTER). But it grounds them a lot more as characters than the floaty glowing elves (for me at least).

I LOVE THIS SERIES AND I NEVER WANT THE FANDOM TO DIE EVERYONE IS SO AWESOME. Seriously, Jakdom is my home on the internet and I love everyone.

If I didn't want to hear your rant, I wouldn't have posted something like this, Song~ I love your rants, seriously. <3

As for the Jak/Mar thing, I actually do believe that Jak is Mar, but I'm also acknowledging the fact that it technically hasn't been proven beyond the shadow of a doubt.

Mostly, I'd be willing to go with whatever NDI says... if it means another decent Jak game in the making. 8D

Honestly, I am absolutely up there with you. At first Evan was talking about dropping the franchise entirely after X, but in recent interviews (and by recent I mean "since the release of TLF") he'd mentioned that he was still hemming and hawwing between three options: a new Uncharted game, a new Jak game, or something completely new.

I think there's another game coming. We might have to wait a few years, but I think especially after TLF and Move, Evan's not gonna want to leave the franchise twitching pathetically as its final sendoff. He'll want to do some big wrap-up, probably with Mar, and -- God willing -- completely undoing all the bullshit canon in TLF. I love Phoenix, but the rest of it can die in a fire.

Oh man, I so hope Evan decides to give the series a final grand farewell. I want this series to end with a bang! Not with a mangled whimper. :c

This whole post just made me so happy.

You pretty much summed up my hopes and feelings towards this whole situation and put it into words far better than I ever could. <3

I really, REALLY hope that they come up with a new game. This series needs to go out with a bang, not just fizzle out into nothing.
