Unpleasant

The company I've worked at for a few years was bought. Recently they have gone on a binge of laying people off. I'm the latest victim, and am now unemployed. One thing that bothers me is that there does not seem to be much logic to what they are doing. Sorry for the suck. Unfortunately, I think your analysis is probably close to correct. It would not surprise me if the current owners took the company on because it used to be AKD's, and they were motivated by getting in the last word as well as trying to harvest back anything that might be useful from it. I don't think they really had much clue about the company when they decided to do it. They aren't strong strategists, though they're usually pretty good joes ( ... )

I think there are some good reasons for software including the state forms. I think they are valuable in that context. Databases can be added, auto-fills, a few other things like that. I see that as valuable. I'm just less amused by selling paper forms that the customer could easily download. With the paper forms all we would do is slap on a logo and sell them.
