Buffy likes Kaylee better this time through partly because she likes Simon better and Kaylee is Important to Simon. But she still has carryover not so fondness from last Kaylee, though she doesn't really comment on it much.

Buffy likes River for somewhat similar reasons, and finds River interesting to talk to in a sort of refreshing way. It's nice to talk to a crazy person with a weird train of thought who's not Dru. She also thought River was adorable with her kitten.

River is Simon's raison d'etre. Oh, and his sister. Seriously, do I really need to detail all of this. If River died, Simon would damn well try and follow her. It's not suicide, it's ... Hisoka respects River a lot for being as...okay, sane-ish as she is after what happened to her. Plus, she gets how hard it can be to have everyone in your head, which is another yay. And...stuff, because we haven't been able to really interact since the crazy episode and that makes me SAD. D:
