In a very, very general way, River likes Ryuuken's icons that indicate that he's showing a real live emotion to someone. She has this thing where people showing an emotion or saying a thought makes it more real to her, partially because she's in everyone's head all the time and partially because she can't really do it herself. This isn't to say that it makes her happy when Ryuuken is miserable, just that it's past his defenses enough to make other people aware. Also, you have no happy icons. Damn canon.

Ge-ge! River likes Simon's icons where he's not being miserable, obstinate, or dumb. Being who she is, she sees these more than most, I think.
