Permissions Meme for River and Kaylee
River:
Age: she just had her 18th birthday in camp
Height: 5 feet, 6 inches
Medical Info: Simon has as much of River's medical information as they've been able to deduce or steal. She's been experimented on, la la la, she has psychotic episodes, she's psychic, can see parts of the future, and has been brainwashed/implanted with triggers. She's got a visible scar on her right shoulder from being mauled by the byahkee at camp. If she was very closely examined, many small, well healed scars from being poked and cut and experimented on at the Academy, but most of these are on her head under her hair. Canonically, there is technology to heal scars so well that they're invisible unless you're very, very up close and personal with them. She's innoculated against diseases from the future, and has a crazy accelerated immune system.
Eyes: very dark brown
Hair: dark brown
Physical traits: River is stronger than she looks, and is very graceful when she moves. Basically, built like and moves like a dancer. Scars mentioned above. She does not make eye contact with people she isn't comfortable with unless she's trying to make a point she thinks is important. Is usually wearing a dress with her Infamous Black Legging Shorts underneath, and her hair tends to get tangly.
What's Okay To Mention Around Him/Her: Most things are fine to mention around River--she knows most things on some level anyway. Please DO NOT mention the Academy, Miranda, the Maidenhead or the process of amputating Simon's leg without consulting me first. NO ONE has permission to trigger River EVER unless it's something that has been planned long in advance.
Abilities: Psychicness, future telling, freaky moonbrain powerz, very quiet feet, super-genius smarts, and the ability to pick up pretty much anything very quickly. Basically, she's a god-moder. We have no evidence that she has superhuman strength, but she does perform some serious feats of endurance without breaking a sweat, so it's likely that she's enchanced somehow. She can also do freaky things like triangulate in her brain sufficiently to shoot three people after looking at them in their smoke-filled 60%+ cover hiding spots for like two seconds with her eyes closed. WTF, Joss.
Notes for the Psychics: River IS one. Her head is not a comfortable place to be for the uninitiated. She is not always sure what memories are hers, and she's constantly recieving the memories of those around her, and she has those precient episodes too. It's more than a little crowded in her head.
Hugging/Kissing/Other non-violent physical contact: River only initiates physical contact with specific people, unless she's making a point. Her reaction to touching depends entirely on her state of mind. She will only accept touching at all times from Simon, Ryuuken, Delirium, and Mal.
Can I shapeshift/bodyswap/spit at/step on/etc?: Yeah, but talk to me first. Some of River's problems are physical (because the Alliance physically messed with her brain), so swapping MAY have more effects on the person going into her body than just getting bug-eyes.
Maim/Murder/Death: Maiming is a no, and death is MAYBE okay only in pre-planned situations. River does have a pretty high ass-kicking ability, so killing her is not easy. Also, River's relationships with other characters make me reluctant to say that death is a good plan.
Cooking: River can't cook. Or maybe she can, but you're likely to get something vaguely Del-esque out of it.
Kaylee:
Age: 21
Height: 5 feet 8 inches
Medical Info: Kaylee is a completely normal human. She's been shot once and tranqued once, and has the corresponding scars. She had normal childhood diseases and innoculations for her planet, whatever they may be.
Eyes: green
Hair: dark blonde/honey brown
Physical traits: Kaylee is a girl who looks like she enjoys her food. Cause she does. She tends toward no-nonsense clothing with pretty accents or bright colors, and her hands are generally dirty in that way that mechanic hands are dirty. She also tends to smell like things associated with machines and soap.
What's Okay To Mention Around Him/Her: Pretty much anything. Kaylee can cope with sad stuff. She doesn't really like talking about Miranda with people who aren't the crew.
Abilities: Kaylee fixes machines, can assemble working complex machinery out of spare parts, and has that sunny disposition that makes people around her happier. She also likes taking care of children. Pretty much not extraordinary in any way.
Notes for the Psychics: Kaylee's brain isn't necessarily an upbeat place to be per se, but she is generally positive. She's got emo, of course, but it's not the primary stuff in her head.
Hugging/Kissing/Other non-violent physical contact: Kaylee is A-OK with physical contact. She'll jokingly elbow or playfully tap-punch people, hug anyone at all who seems to need it, and doesn't mind when kid-types climb all over her.
Can I shapeshift/bodyswap/spit at/step on/etc?: Swapping is okay as long as you poke me first. Beating on Kaylee is kinda not okay--she doesn't cope well at all with violence directed AT HER (general violence is different, or violence toward a group she's in) and I don't really want to have to cope with an emo Kaylee. If she gets herself into a situation that's moving towards beatings, please poke me before hurting her.
Maim/Murder/Death: These are all NOT OKAY unless there's a situation where I give specfic permission. Kaylee doesn't save, and dying would really mess pretty bad with her mental state.
Cooking: Kaylee can, in fact, cook. It's one of those things she learned from her Ma. However, she'd much rather leave cooking at camp to the cooks, because they're much better at it than her and she LOVES good food.
