Relationship meme, essay meme, whatever. You want to know things about River, Kaylee, or Sophie, ask them here. Maybe I will actually finish a meme. STRANGER THINGS HAVE OCCURRED.
River finds Wiccan very interesting. He's kinda dorky, which appeals, and he knows a lot about them without knowing them at all. River hasn't had a chance to talk to a real fanboy before, which of course interests her greatly. She does hope that he's not going to traumatize Simon, but she'd like to pick his brain more.
Sophie feels a sort of exasperated fondness for Imoen. She's a brat, but she's a lighthearted brat, and that's both different and amusing to Sophie. Francescu seems pretty fond, and Imoen, thus far, has been harmless. Sophie likes bantering with Imoen, although admittedly probably liked the more mature version better. I suspect that fond exasperation will be her MO in the future, though. As long as Imoen wants to be around Sophie, and as long as nothing is getting knocked over and no one is getting maimed, Sophie will enjoy her company.
I do enjoy relationship memes. And because I am an essay-whore, I'll give you the reverse, at least for Francescu and Sophie. (The other two are more or less "Simon's sister, v. broken, uncontrolled telempath so remember to shield" and "Simon's girlfriend, seems kind, good with kids

I always saw Francescu as Sophie's second-favorite brother--she seems to spend more time with Manfred just relaxing than she does with Francescu, but she does safeguard Francescu's fingerbone and I do imagine that he'd probably be the only other sibling to let her stay in his home without prejudice. That's why what he did hurt her so much--Sophie doesn't ask for help often, so to be refused on something that important hurt her very deeply. Then she came to camp to find that Francescu has given himself to other people, and has a trust and a willingness to act for them that he didn't have for her. In a way, that was almost a second betrayal, because Sophie has a thing about being inadequate, and the fact that her pleading wasn't enough to bring Francescu down from his tower but that these people to whom he had no ties were enough made her believe she is far less important to him than she thought. Ouch. On top of that, Francescu is letting people hurt him, which both completely boggles her and scares her into thinking that he's going to

...man. They really do need to just sit down and talk. Which is the story of our canon, really! Six-sevenths of all the bitterness and distrust and hate are all misunderstandings. It's one of the most poignant things about the story IMO

Terry is very earnest. Which is why he fails at Batman so hard most of the time... he's a sucky liar, and he hates hiding things from people he trusts. And I hate to say that he trusts too easily, but he does. And his behavior with Sophie isn't the same treatment he gives most people... he's not casually touchy, so he really hasn't hugged anybody. Or had much other contact, for that matter. He only told two people about the fact he missed his birthday (one was Tim, and the other was Kairi but she specifically asked when it was so his admission wasn't quite voluntary). He's never asked anybody else out, or flirted so persistently, bad as his skills are. And he's been here four months. o_O It sorta threw me for a loop to realize that there's more going on in his head than I knew. I didn't think he was this deep, so I sat down to analyze the why

Ryuudaddy! Not much has really changed for River on the Ryuuken front--I kinda tend to assume that everything is the same when they're not being played. She still hangs around him, and sleeps with him sometimes, but she also tends to stay away when Rikuou's around. Lately, it depends a lot on how much she needs to stalk Simon to make sure no one's messing with him. Emotionally, it's all the same. I haven't had River out much, what with all the weird emo going around, but yes, I'd love to thread with them some. They're always so cute.
Friends, in River's mind, is entirely the wrong word. Peter falls under the umbrella of Delerium's realm, so she has to take care of him, and like Death, Del doesn't discriminate

Del's reaction to this being, kick Peter Pan in the shins. Feel bad and pet him. Attempt to explain herself to Simon. Fail. Kick Simon in the shins. Feel bad and pet Simon. Pout at River. Decide that being stuck in a situation where she's potentially expected to choose ANYTHING EVER fails. Continue to not choose. Repeat.
My reaction to this being, probably an unhealthy amount of sympathy for a bunch of fictional characters.
Del doesn't have to choose. I mean, she's Del and that means she doesn't discriminate. And River's never going to get angry at Del for not making a decision. She's just never going to like Peter as long as Peter keeps hurting Simon, and she will do whatever she has to in order to get it through Peter's head that Simon is a never toy. It is a sad situation, but pretty much if Peter left Simon alone it'd all go away.

I fail at playing Ryuuken lately, but he and River need to be cute again, sometime.

Also. What does River think about Del being friends with Peter Pan, when Simon and Peter and River SO DON'T GET ALONG?

Hah. True that, though.
