name change help

      I'm making this entry public because I want any help I can get. If you know anything about Georgia name change law, or can make sense of legalese, or know someone who can, please help.

A legal name change is pretty much my only option to get the right name on my license. So I googled it and found a website where I can buy the documents

If it helps... I had a Y as my second I in my name. I was so young when I decided I didnt like it I feel like I always spelled it KristIn. My mom told me she just went and filed a petition at court and was only charged a filing fee (so I could get my drivers license with the way I spelled it.)She also had to put the name change in the paper as a legal notice for a month. With the court doc, I got a new s.s. card, same number, new spelling, and now when I pull my credit report is says f/k/a on it. Like I avoid the law or something.
Just go to Superior Court and file a petition. They know what to do. Dont pay someone! <3 If you need any more help let me know, I can get most of the forms free. ;)
