YAY! I finally got rid of i--search, i think. I had to uninstall explorer and start using Mozilla. Hopefully they won't find me again. Like, when I changed my IP address, i-search didn't pop up for a few days, but eventually it attacked again. I hope this time it's gone for good ( Read more... )

Yeah, I'm seeing why explorer is dominant now-- explorer can handle a lot of applets that Mozilla doesn't like too much. Like I was saddened to discover that my beautiful slide show on my website doesn't work in Mozilla because Mozilla apparently doesn't know how to handle inline frames. So my slide show doesn't work unless I open the frame in a new window. :( Oh well. Now at least I know that I need to figure out something else for my slide show.

I never used to have problems with Windows either until recently. Two things have changed that might be a fault, but I don't know: 1) I have XP now 2) I have wireless internet. The i--search thing hit me before I got wireless though.

I read up a little about i--search. People have been having a really hard time getting rid of it because apparently it puts itself on your system restore or something like that. I don't know enough about system restore to know what that entails.

Micro$oft is ridiculously invasive. They're every where. Even custom-built and custom-run systems have their own problems ... after all, they have windoes as their base OS, and micro$oft hasn't gotten it right in whatever it's been 5 or 6 iterations.

Eh, enough being negative. *kicks the soapbox over*
