the poetry slam was sooooo amazing that I'm still glowing from the experience. It was like a secular church of hippie green people, and I was totally a congregate. I especially felt that way because one of the guys sounded like a mix of gospel preacher and rap artist, but he was talking about how if we focused more on global issues then maybe we ( Read more... )

sweeeeet. good times. sounds wonderful; wish I'd have been there, but as I said elsewhere it just didn't work out.

sonds like a different crowd of s\lammers than were at my first slam, which seemed like a bounch of disaffected young and bad writers.

No, the poetry was really diverse. Like here are the topics I remember:
--Janet Jackson's titty is responsible for most of the evil in this world
--My dad walked out of my life when I was 12
--We should think about global issues
--My hitch hiking experience
--My girlfriend is annoyed with my poetry
--"Kiss me, my love, in cherry apple orchards..."
--I got crabs and it really sucked
--I love KISS
--I never told this one girl how much I loved her and then she died

Yeah, so there are the lighthearted, the political, and a few dumb ones.
